This was middle aged man with history of pancreatitis and splenectomy in past. On admission, he had multiple episodes of blood in vomiting and stools. Upper GI scopy was suggestive of large hematoma in stomach. CT Abdomen was done which revealed large pseudoaneurysm arising from distal splenic artery.
Emergency transarterial DSA angiography was done followed by coil embolisation of the splenic artery. Post procedure there was no need for repeat blood transfusion and the nor-adrenaline support has been tapered. Thus it was life saving procedure for the patient…
